Jasper enjoying a pine cone in the woods
Hi there. Together with my husband and our family we have created a dog walking adventure on our lifestyle property outside Christchurch. Paddock Pups provides the opportunity for your dog to experience the sights, sounds, smells and fun of grassy paddocks, woodland, creeks, woodpiles and hay sheds and all they have to offer on a one hour walk. This is privately owned, securely fenced land within 25 minutes of the CBD.
We have collaborated with Head to Tail to ensure a safe, secure and fun dog walking service on private land.
Our pup journey
Dogs have been a passion of mine since I was very young. I have owned, walked, fostered, bred, loved and lost many canine companions.
My journey started with Lizzie - a liver and white springer spaniel. She had two litters of puppies in her lifetime and lived until the age of 13.
Then there was Bailey - a golden labrador with hip dysplasia. He lived until the age of 11 and even emigrated with us to New Zealand.
Molly was a very (!) naughty beagle that I fostered for a short time alongside Bailey. She was nose down tail up for all of the time I cared for her! Molly was followed by Jasper, a beautiful full pedigree black labrador that joined us and emigrated to New Zealand. He was our first foray into obedience and obstacle courses. He was a natural!
For a short time in New Zealand we were joined by Polly - a slightly anxious springer spaniel. We have also played host to a number of dogs for our family when they holiday - Max, Duke, Ollie, Barney, Jack and Poppy.
Maddie joined us shortly after Bailey's trip over the Rainbow Bridge. She was a rescue - a beautiful black and tan staffy cross. She and Jasper lived on the Paddock Pups farm together for 4 years before she joined Bailey and Lizzie on the Rainbow Bridge.
Ludo became part of the pack shortly before we lost Jasper. He is a liver German Shorthaired Pointer and added in some youth to the pack. Jasper passed away and Ludo and Maddie ruled the roost until Rocky joined the crew.
Rocky is our latest and last addition to the family - a black labrador. He and Ludo test out the paddocks and fences regularly and are truly what has inspired our journey to create Paddock Pups.
I am very passionate about the care, health and lifestyle of all animals. We have many animals on our lifestyle block and because of that, I hold certificates in Animal Health, Animal First Aid and Care, Canine Behaviour and Dog Psychology. Whilst your Pup(s) will get to smell the other animals, they won't get to meet them face to face - we ensure that the paddocks we are using for exercise are for dogs only.
