We have 20+ acres of six individually fenced and secure grassy paddocks with creeks, woods, wood piles and hay sheds for your pups to enjoy during a walk.
Situated just outside Christchurch, our walkers collect from a range of areas around the city. We will collect your pup(s) either in the morning or afternoon and return them to you exercised, dried off and ready for a snooze.
If you live further away but would still like to be part of the Paddock Pups crew, just drop us a line and we'll work out what we can manage.
Dogs are walked by our partner Head to Tail and bookings are made through their website directly.
Before you can book a walk, we will come and meet your pup(s) at your house with you there to make sure there is a positive connection and you can see how we work with animals.
Our handlers have decades of canine experience and are certified in Animal Health and Care including First aid, Canine behaviour and Dog psychology.
Your pups are just as important to us as they are to you and whether you have selected an on-lead, off-lead, solo or group walk, our handlers will use their experience and skill to make sure your pup has a safe and fun time.
Once this meeting has been completed and you are ready to join the crew we will onboard you and your pups so that you can go 'walkies' in the paddocks when you are ready.
Your pup can be walked as part of a group (of no larger than 4 dogs), or individually. They can be walked on-leash or off-leash to safely experience all the property has to offer. All dogs are walked on a long line for the first couple of sessions.
Exercise is vital to a dog’s mental and physical well-being. Different breeds of dogs have different exercise requirements and we cater for all - it's why we group our dogs according to their breed, size, gender, age and behaviour etc. Each dog has it's own needs.
Did you know that the average dog needs around two hours of exercise a day but a working or hunting breed may need twice as much? A toy dog may get enough exercise by just running around at home but should still be walked outside at least once daily for mental stimulation. This is where we can really help. Rather than fighting traffic to get to a dog park, rushing home or getting up early to walk in the dark (or the rain) before or after work, why not let us take the strain.
We don't all have time for two hours of exercise a day for ourselves let alone the dog so ... that's where Paddock Pups comes in. Entrusted to the walkers we use your pup(s) will get an uninterrupted hour of outdoor exercise - come rain or shine! Whether it's in a group or by themselves you can be sure that they will have given their sniffers a good workout in the woodpiles, stretched their legs running through the paddocks, woods or creek and given their brain a workout by experiencing a new place.
If you still have questions - which we ok with - please check our our FAQs. If we haven't provided the answers then drop us a line!
